Melissa had a dream, that a food store could provide quality locally sourced cooking ingredients and Western Australian organic produce that would inspire cooking an eating in a more environmentally conscious way. The team includes Jenny Blackburn, recently returned from living in Chile, South America speaks Spanish and is a convert to organics and a great cook, Marion Archer, our highly competent accounts manager and sometimes keen foodie serving in the store, is also a keen vegetable grower. Marie Lindimon, a recent addition to the vibrant Denmark community from France is a great pastry and dessert cook and musician. Her tarts and cakes fill the store on our Fresh Food Saturdays and she will soon be running a cooking class just on French desserts and tarts Saturdays will also see local producers come to Figtree Square to sell fresh just picked fruit and vegetables to compliment the stores range of grocery ingredients. Mark Hackleton (ex Somerton Farm days) is back selling his fresh organic salad greens, garlic and his new range of organic dried herbs and seeds. Mark also runs the Organic community garden in Denmark.
